Something a little different coming to help us all get ready for the upcoming Holiday. JoAnn will teach a class on how to make a pretty and/or cute Puffy Holiday Wreath.

Supplies Needed:

Wire Wreath Form
1/4 Yd cuts x 3 (1/4 yd for each color
Matching thread(s)
1 roll 1/4" Dbl face satin ribbon
3 rolls 1/8" Dbl face satin ribbon (18 ft min)
1 bag poly fiberfill
Pinking Shears(or blade for rotary cutter)
Cutting Mat
Lg Ruler
Scissors
Bobbins for matching thread
Sewing Machine - just a little sewing

Optional:

1 pkg small jingle bells
2 Medium jingle bells
1 Small charm
Anything additional ornamentation

July: Christmas in July Workshop

Last Month Patsy gave us a list of supplies we needed to bring to our July meeting. She said we would be making a beautiful 42" Christmas tree.

At this month's meeting, Patsy will provide templates and a pattern.

Post-meeting update: Members worked very diligently to duplicate Patsy's beautiful little tree. Although it was a simple enough pattern and everything was explained very well, most of us will be finishing our trees at home. The plan is for everyone involved to complete their tree and bring it to the August meeting for Show & Tell.

This was a fun workshop with lots of hard work but lots of smiles and chatting too. Thank you Patsy!

For July: prep for a Make-and-Take Project

The July program will be a sewing venue. The theme of this program is "Christmas in July." Members participating will make a 42"x 13" Christmas Tree wall hanging (table runner?). The pattern showed each section of the Christmas Tree to be a contrasting "holiday" themed fabric. Think of different patterns as well, i.e., holly and berries on a black background or a green and red plaid, gold and silver ornaments on a green background, and etc.

A sample pattern was passed around and the supplies list you will need to bring to the July meeting can be found below.

Members please bring your sewing machine and supplies, plus Christmas themed fabrics or lots of green fabric to share. Fat quarters are acceptable. Come and bring your "party" spirit along for a fun-filled afternoon of sewing and friendship!
