"My First Quilt"

Members of the After School Quilting Club completed their first ever, quilts this May (2015).

 This was the 5th year of the Chino Valley Quilters After School Program. Heritage Middle School and the Chino Valley Quilters sponsor this program, which include 5th through 8th grade students. 


This program would not have been possible without the great volunteers; Coordinator: Joanne Fitterer, Sandi White, Robin Peterson, Pat Lujan, Marilyn Mains, Carol Rabbit, Levona Barnhart, and Carol Bingham.
 

Chino Valley Quilters members work with local schools, youth programs and other organizations to share the craft of quilting with younger generations.  Many of us also find the quilting bug runs in the family, and welcome our own children and grandchildren into the sewing room.

 
Some of our work with kids and youth organizations:

• Quilting classes at area elementary schools
• Quilts for Head Start students
• School sewing projects donated to survivors of the Sandy Hook School shooting
• Free admission for children 12 and under to our Quilt Show

Donate fabric, thread or other sewing materials!


Need to clear a path through the sewing room? No room left in the garage for the car? We'll gladly take your fabric scraps, thread, batting and other sewing supplies and put them to good use.

Chino Valley Quilters members create quilts for many community-support projects, often donating their own fabric and materials in addition to their time. Because there is ongoing need for Comfort Quilts and other donations, we always need materials. We also accept financial donations toward purchase of these supplies.
