Gale Carson is our guest speaker on August 8th with a workshop the following day.
Paper piecing can be in your life with this simplified technique where you don't have to precut fabric, or tear off paper to get perfect points and save on fabric yardage. In this class you will learn a different way to paper piece that will being joy back in your life! This is a simpler and faster way than the traditional way. Not only will you learn the technique, but using your own choice of color, design your own New York Beauty. The workshop is a technique based class. Gale will teach a faster, easier, less waste method of freezer paper piecing using a New York Beauty style block as the basis of the class. Students will make several blocks during the class that can become the basis for a quilted item of their choosing such as a table runner, wall hanging or quilt. Gale's method works best with batiks or solids that do not have a right/wrong side. Workshop is Wednesday, August 9th from 9AM to 4 PM at Mingus View Presbyterian Church in the basement. A supply list will be posted when we get it, as well as information on how to register for the workshop.
