Programs

Picture
Our educational programs cover a variety of quilting topics such as quilt styles, techniques and history. Presented at our general meeting each month, they are designed for many skill levels and help even the most experienced quilter learn something new.  Meetings usually include a workshop to  practice quilting  techniques or a sew-in.

Mentor's Table

Picture
A volunteer member staffs a Mentors Table at the monthly meeting to demonstrate fun and new quilt-making techniques. Mentors learn  shortcuts, tips and tricks, and  more, then share this knowledge with other quilters.   Mentoring is a volunteer position that runs for one to two years (term is up to the volunteer).  Mentors   teach and inspire us, and  get us more involved.

Show & Tell

Picture
Show & Tell is a popular part of our monthly meetings. Members show one of their own quilting projects and tell us a little about how they made it and why. It's about creativity and inspiration, not critique, and is a great to inspire each other.

Friendship Groups

Picture
Friendship Groups are our version of  traditional intimate quilting circles.  Groups usually have no more than 15 members so that we get to know each other and spend time on shared interests. Most groups meet monthly and many organize events such as sew-ins and shop hops.

Community Work

Picture
Community  is important to Chino Valley Quilters members. We volunteer to provide neighbors with valuable education and assistance through programs such as  After School Quilting, Comfort Quilts, Hometown Christmas and participation with the local Chamber of Commerce.

Blocks & Contests

Picture
Blocks and challenges are a tiny but important part of our  guild activities. Blocks are the backbone of our Comfort Quilts  program. Chairman's Challenge Quilts are small projects designed to challenge our creativity through a group competition done in the spirit of fun.

Quilt Show

Picture
Every two years, Chino Valley Quilters holds a public Quilt Show. It includes a member quilt exposition, boutique, expert demonstrations, vendor fair,  door prizes, and the raffle for our Opportunity Quilt. Funds raised from the show support our ongoing work in the  community.

Opportunity Quilt

CVQ 2019 Opportunity Quilt
A new Opportunity Quilt is presented at each Quilt Show. A member or group of members creates the quilt   to be raffled off to raise funds supporting our programs and work in the community. About a year prior to the show, we display the quilt at venues around the area and sell raffle tickets.

Special Events

Picture
A much as we love Chino Valley, we also like to get out of town for an adventure every now and then. We organize several special events throughout the year, including Shop Hops, trips to other quilt shows or festivals and local events such as Mother's Day at the Granite Creek Winery.
