How to Attach a Quilt Hanging Sleeve

What is a quilt sleeve and why do I need one?

Quilt sleeves are designed to slip a pole or rod through, and then hang the quilt in some kind of frame. The most common need for a quilt sleeve is a quilt show. The sleeve fabric can be anything you like, but often matches the backing fabric or is a fabric that looks nice to the eye. Creative sleeves can be fun and add to the beauty of a quilt. Your sleeve should be strong enough to hold the weight of the quilt so a light-weight lace, for example, would not work unless your quilt is small.

Tipsy & Tricksy at it again

Make yourself an "on the go" bag containing a small pair of scissors, thread, and pins. Put these into a Ziplock bag or small container that fits well in your purse. Then when you are having to wait somewhere or for someone, it will be handy for things like "ripping out or working on small projects." How about using dental floss: put some in your sewing room and "thread" your machine with it. . . the floss will pull out dust and more. Use denatured alcohol to clean the bobbin area; use a small artist brush for hard to reach areas.  A Kleenex box will hold lots of threads and scraps,
