How to Beat the Summer Heat: Shop Hop to Flagstaff
In July, Chino Valley Quilters took the Seams Sew Right bus from Prescott to the cool, high country in Flagstaff. There were about 55 quilters and guests on the bus, so we made lots of new quilting friends.
We traveled to Quilting Sisters, in Payson, Quilter's Quarters & Bernina Too, in Cottonwood, Quilter's Store Sedona and Odegaard's Sewing Center, in Flagstaff. Wonderful refreshments were offered at each stop, so we almost didn't need the great lunch provided by Pangaea Bakery, in Prescott. Speaking of treats, there were many beautiful and fun quilting things for our eyes to feast upon. There were gorgeous, clever large-quilt samplers, even the smallest of charms and everything in between. |
On our way home from Flagstaff, we stopped at Quilts on Route 66, in Williams. The shop had just recently reopened but made time for our busload of quilters, several who won wonderful prizes while there.
We arrived back in Prescott tired but excited to get home and survey our bags of goodies. Because there was not time to stop in Prescott Valley on the return route, we plan to pursue more of all things quilting at Cloth Plus and Quilt 'n Sew Connection shops on our own, and complete our Shop Hop cards. |
