"Tipsy & Tricksy" (Lavonna on left - Sandi on right) provided some good ones such as: when making a child's quilt to make a couple of extra blocks. You can then add them to a pillow case making a matched "set." Also that rubber tipped bobby pins can be used to hold binding in place while doing hand stitching. Another good one we can all use is to attach a piece of sticky-backed Velcro to the bottom of your foot pedal so it won't move. If you happen to get machine oil on fabric you can sprinkle corn starch on it and let it set a minute and then brush away! That last tip will not work if you plan to use fusible web and had pre-washed your fabric and used fabric softener. If your stack of UFO's is becoming a problem try making a list and try to mark off at least one each week.
