Christmas Party December 2013
Deck the halls with boughs of holly. . .
And, boy, did we deck the halls with very creative fun and elegant table decorations!
This year the Chino Valley Quilters held a contest to see who or which group would sponsor a Holiday table for our Christmas party celebration of the holiday season. There were seven tables and we were to decorate our chosen table in any theme we liked. It was extremely difficult to vote for the one you liked the best because they were all beautifully done.
Everyone had a wonderful and fun time; not to mention the delicious luncheon!
Christmas Party Time - by Pam Kidd
Wow! What a shindig! We had food! We had a festive atmosphere! We had surprises! Best part is we had FUN!
First, the Christmas Luncheon Committee (Susan Joy, Kathy, and Pam) want to say a big THANK YOU to all of the table decorators! They were all gorgeous which made it really hard to pick a favorite! The amount of detail and thought that everyone put into their table decorations are what really gave us that festive atmosphere. Thank you ladies!
Our ornament exchange after lunch was done to a story that Susan Joy had personalized to reflect our Guild personalities. While Susan Joy read the story aloud, we stood in a big circle and when she said ‘right’, ‘left’ or ‘around’….we did just that! Afterwards we had dessert and the winner of the ‘Quilters Choice Best Decorated Table 2013 ribbon was announced. Edie Spain took home the ribbon! Way to go Edie!
We really want to thank everyone for all that they did…whether it was bringing a dish, setting up, cleaning up or decorating a table! We had the vision but we could not have done it without all of you!
Members were asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate to our Food Pantry Box. Pat Lujan dropped off our donations to the Chino Valley Food Bank and she asked me to pass along their ‘thanks’ for thinking of them.
I have said it before and I will say it again…WE ROCK!
