Officers & Committees
Chino Valley Quilters is governed by a board made up of four elected officers and four executive committee chairmen appointed by the board chairman. To be eligible, members must have been active in the Chino
Valley Quilters for at least one year. Officers are elected annually in March for a term of one year, taking office in April. An elected office cannot be held for more than two consecutive years.
Most of you know me to some extent but I'm sure the newcomers do not have a lot of information. I am a South Dakota transplant since 1975. I earned a degree in Art & English at BHSC in 1972 and my Masters at NAU in 1995.
I guess you could call e a fiber-a-holic. Knitting, crochet, fashion sewing, household sewing, and finally quilting. Quilting gives me the opportunity to stretch my creativity as there are literally no boundaries and to a certain extent, no rules. In 2012, I was asked to design our opportunity quilt for the guild and Yavapai Memories was born.
I look forward to serving the membership during the 2018-19 year. The best way to reach me is by text or email. My contact information is in our membership directory. I hope to work more closely with Newcomers and to improve the flow of our meetings and communications. Lastly, to work with all members so we have a truly fun filled year!
Karolyn resides in Chino Valley with her husband, Andy and her 2 dogs, 9 chickens, and 3 horses.
In 2014, she was invited to attend a Chino Valley Quilters Guild meeting, and joined two months later. Not a quilter when she joined, but had sewing experience, Karolyn has completed one quilt and is working on her second.
She is an avid horseback rider and enjoys helping local ranches during round ups and branding. Her hobbies are working out at the gum, reading in her garden and sipping iced tea. She thoroughly enjoys serving as Secretary!
Chino Valley Quilters encourages members to serve on at least one of our volunteer committees. For more information, use the Get in Touch form at the bottom of this page to contact us.
