I grew up around sewing as my Mom was an accomplished Seamstress and made all of my sister's and my clothing.  I really didn't start sewing much until my daughter's were born but went absolutely crazy and followed in Mom's footsteps.  My first quilt was around 1969 when I made a baby blanket for a friend of mine.  I did this for years and years never realizing I was quilting.  I just made blankets and never even realized patterns were available.

I worked for Verizon (not the Cellphone side) and ran a couple sewing business in my limited spare time. I made custom household items such as quilts, bedspreads, dust ruffles, drapes, curtains, pillows etc. I also did mending, alterations and clothing.  My first quilt class was in 1995 and of course I was hooked! I made 16 twin or larger quilts the first year and quilted each of them myself on my little Bernina Sewing machine.  I made cookie cutter quilts (what I call pattern quilts) for years until I decided I needed more of an artistic outlet and now design most of my quilts myself.  After retirement I decided to go back to work part time and had the opportunity to work for Moore's Sewing in Apple Valley.  I helped open the store, taught machine classes for all the Baby Lock and Brother machines. I also taught machine embroidery, quilting, kids classes and helped with trouble shooting machine repair problems. I treasure that I am still in contact with many of my students.

I look forward to my term as your Chairman this year.  I've observed that although we may not all have the same focus in our quilting and charity endeavors, we are a cohesive and amazing group of women.  With our quilt show coming in October and the outpouring of support we've seen this early in the year, it is sure to be a great success.

I have resided in Chino Valley since 2012, with my husband, Andy, as well as our 2 dogs, 9 chickens, and 3 horses.

IN 2014, I received an invitation to visit the Chino Valley Quilters Guild monthly meeting and joined the group two months later. Although I had past sewing experience, I was not a quilter when I joined.

An avid horseback rider, I enjoy occasionally helping local ranches during round ups and branding.  Gardening, workout at the gym, reading while sitting in my garden and sipping iced tea are things I love.

Serving in the capacity of secretary for the Chino Valley Quilters has been thoroughly enjoyably.

I moved to Chino Valley in 2006 and joined the Chino Valley Quilters
in 2012.

Before moving here, I worked for Vons and Safeway's Southern California corporate offices in accounting. I was also a buyer for 22 years for Vons and Safeway.  In addition I worked another 6 1/2 years as a buyer for U.S. Food Service (formerly, Joseph Webb Foods) in Vista, California.

I love living in the small Chino Valley community that makes me feel like I am on vacation everyday!
