Trunk Show by Maylee Collins ~ January 2014
Maylee Collins is the owner of two of our favorite Prescott area quilt shops -- Seams Sew Right and Love It Again - Fabrics and Fun Stuff
Maylee brought a selection of her own quilts and a quilt made using the new Lazy Angle Ruler. After our meeting, Maylee demonstrated how to use the new Lazy Angle Ruler by Creative Grids. CVQ Christmas Party & Luncheon ~ December 2013
The highlight of our annual Christmas party was the table decorations!
Seven individuals or friendship teams chose to decorate a single party table in a Christmas theme. From the centerpiece to the nut cups or favors and all the PIZAZZ that comes with a Christmas celebration, each table was fabulous and dressed in high style.

International Quilt Festival
Houston in Review ~ November 2013 Kathy (Kat) Lohr, owner of Quilt 'n Sew Connection quilt shop in Prescott Valley, took us through the highlights of the festival with a slide show and shared "What's New in Quilting" from her discoveries at the International Quilt Market. 
Mona Jantz's Trunk Show ~ October 2013
We enjoyed a delightful showing of Mona Jantz's own quilts along with several others she has purchased for her private quilt collection. Mona is a gifted local quilt artist from our quad-city area who preserves her experiences and memories through her quilting. |
Black & White & ?? Quilt Challenge ~ September 2013
Early this year, Susan Gates-Harms (Immediate Past President of CVQ), presented our group with a challenge. The challenge was to create a small quilt, no larger than 36" X 36" using both black and white fabrics and one other color fabric. Read more and see the winners! 
Calling All Antique Quilts ~ August 2013
Gail Van Horsen, Certified Quilt Appraiser, gave us her learned opinions regarding the fabrics and date ranges of the antique quilts that our members brought in. We saw a lot of beautiful quilts and we all learned a bit of quilting history. In addition to appraising quilts for seven years (the last four as a Certified Appraiser), Gail is also in her second term as President of Arizona Quilters Hall of Fame.
